Brigadier Ntlele Ntoi was born and raised at Ha 'Mamathe, Berea. The General joined the then Royal Lesotho Defence Force back in June 1992.
He rose through the ranks until he attained the rank of brigadier in 2017, and duly appointed the Assistance Chief of Staff Finance in 2021. The General is the alumnus of the United States Army Intelligence Centre, Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he acquired his Diploma in Military Intelligence Career Course and Certificate in Intelligence in Combating Terrorism in 2008 through 2009.
He is also an alumnus of the Zimbabwe Command and Staff College pursuing Junior Command & Staff Course, Harare in the Republic of Zimbabwe in 2011. He also attended several other courses, military exercises, and seminars at the regional, continental and international level. Among other exercises attended by the General, under SADC auspices include; Exercises Thokgamo, Botswana and Golfino, South Africa in 2005 and 2009 respectively. In 2012 and 2013 the General participated in Exercise Africa Endeavour in Douala, Cameroon and Lusaka Zambia, respectively, offered by the United States Africa command (US Africom), focusing on Public Relations field. In 2012 he attended Public Affairs and the Media Symposium in Garmisch, Germany also offered by the US Africom.
In a distinguished military career spanning almost three decades, a mention can be made of the appointments the General held: a journalist-cum-sub-editor for the LDF newsmagazine, MARA and has written extensively. He was appointed the desk officer in the Military Intelligence, and rose to deputize the Chief of the Defence Intelligence.
He also worked as a Senior Instructor at the LDF Military Intelligence School, and many a times, he was invited as a guest instructor in various courses held locally – both in the military and other national security agencies. The General, amongst other important appointments include tenanting the prestigious appointment of a Military Assistant officer to the LDF Commander.
Some of his responsibilities included among others overall supervision of staff work in the office of the Commander. The General's military decorations are as follows: Military Medal for Meritorious Service (MMMS), Military Medal for Gallantry (MMG), Military Service Medal (MSM) (10 & 20 yrs), and SADCM.
